Acupuncture promotes the body’s natural healing process by improving circulation. It stimulates energy flow through channels distributed throughout the body. When a channel is blocked and energy does not transmit, reliant body systems are inhibited. Needles are used to stimulate specific points on the channels to restore the proper energy flow.

Gua Sha is an ancient Chinese medicinal treatment dating back thousands of years. More recently, it is also used for beauty treatments. A smooth grooved jade instrument is used to tone skin, break up stagnant tissue, and improve circulation. Over the body, pain/tension are commonly addressed by Gua Sha treatments, as well systemic ailments such as heatstroke. On the face, gua sha treatments drain lymph to clear puffiness and inflammation, reviving our body's natural cleansing process for a more toned and sculpted appearance.


Moxibustion

Moxibustion is the oldest Chinese medicinal treatment, used for thousands of years. The herb Mugwort, in Chinese called Ay Ye, is burned over specific areas or points to warm coldness and stimulate circulation in the body, promoting proper function.

Katie Star completed 5 years of education for her Master’s of Science in Oriental Medicine. She attended Finger Lakes College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in NY. Then transferred to California to further her comprehension of classical Chinese medicinal training, at Emperor’s College and Dongguk University Los Angeles. She completed internships at each university, at Veterans Affairs, as well as an externship at the USC Student Health Center.
