Kate has a Master’s of Science in Oriental Medicine, and is a California licensed acupuncturist.
Her passion for Chinese medicine started with learning the philosophy in relation to life, death, and disease. This brought peace to her own life, and she wanted to share it with others. Understanding the medicine and performing treatments came naturally to her, even though she was not aware of the medicine growing up.
She attended Finger Lakes College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in NY, and half way through decided to transfer to Emperor’s College for a more complete classical Chinese medicine education, then finished clinical education at Dongguk University Los Angeles. She performed internships at each university, at Veterans Affairs, as well as an externship at the USC Student Health Center.
Post graduate work includes training with Master Jia Yu in Moorpark, CA. Katie Star learned his family lineage’s acupuncture theory, a powerful treatment style dating back to 1492 (and earlier) especially beneficial for pain relief.
